• Asharqia Chamber concludes the 2018 Careers Fair with more than 19,000 visitors

    The sixth edition of the Jobs Fair 2018 concluded on Thursday, October 25 with the visit of more than 19 thousand applicants, amid the great interest of participating companies and beneficiaries. The exhibition organized by the Chamber in partnership with the Dhahran International Exhibitions Company (Expo) from Monday until Friday.

    136 companies and institutions participated in the exhibition as they provided 6500 thousand jobs for men, women and people with special needs.

     

    The four-day event had different workshops that were organized by the Chamber in cooperation with the Human Resources Fund, as they were presented by specialists who examined a number of topics that are directly related to the labor market.

     

    The exhibition was visited by the American consulate in Dhahran, Rachna Kouroun, where she expressed her admiration for the organization of the exhibition and the level of companies participating, and the demand for job seekers.

     

    The Chairman of the Board of Directors of Asharqia Chamber, Abdul Hakim bin Hamad Al-Ammar Al-Khalidi, said that the exhibition, which was held under the patronage of His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, witnessed a distinguished participation by many companies for governmental and private institutions.

    Al-Khalidi pointed out that the Chamber designed an electronic platform to register the beneficiaries of the applicants, as the job seekers are required of the mandatory registration through the link wadaef.sa. This feature enables the job seekers to enter directly to the exhibition and tour between the companies and institutions without having to bring hard copy of the CV, as all their CV information will be pre-existing on the platform associated with all exhibitors.

    The exhibition also witnessed the participation of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development and the Human Resources Development Fund, with special pavilions for each entity offering the public the services to citizens.

     

     

    Al-Khalidi pointed out that the preliminary results of the exhibition confirmed the depth of interaction between the public and private sectors to support our qualified Saudi youth.

    He stressed that most of those who applied for jobs are holders of higher degrees, including a large number of graduates of foreign universities, indeed, some of those applying for jobs had different degrees and practical experience. Some of them also attended to explore best job offers.

    This confirms that the exhibition has become a preferred and direct means for young Saudis to obtain the required jobs that by given the excellence in the available opportunities through this exhibition according to the vision of the Kingdom 2030.

     

    Furthermore, Secretary General of Asharqia Chamber, Abdulrahman bin Abdullah Al-Wabil, expressed sincere thanks and appreciation to His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz for his patronage of the exhibition, and thanks to all the companies and institutions supporting and sponsoring and participating in the exhibition.

    Al-Wabil said that the exhibition received job seekers over the course of 4 days on two periods, the first period was from 10 am to 2 pm, and the second period was from 4 pm to 8 pm.

    The first three days were allocated for individuals (men only) and the fourth for families and women.

    He pointed to the keenness of visitors to be present since the early hours of the exhibition to learn about the offered career opportunities.

    Al-Wabil emphasized that the success of the exhibition in its sixth edition this year was the result of many factors, most notably the growth and development of the strategic partnership between Asharqia Chamber and Dhahran International Exhibitions Company (Expo) as well as the early efforts of the Chamber, added to the great interaction of the audience, which embodied the reality of the vitality and enthusiasm of Saudi youth.

    He stated that a number of exhibiting companies had provided employment opportunities for people with special needs, which gives positive status to this exhibition.

    He praised the great interaction shown by private sector institutions and companies this year.

    He pointed out that the preparation for the exhibition began before the start of more than 7 months.

     

    The exhibition includes a number of career opportunities in different fields, where jobs were reserved for men in the following specializations (837 in sales), (500 administrative), (2000 technical), (115 medical), (745 engineering) and (605 others).

     Jobs also were reserved for women in the following specializations (351 sales), administrative (318 administrative), (74 technical), (76 medial), (192 engineering) and (153 others).

    In addition, there are jobs that allocated for people with special needs in the following specialties (sales 9) and (administrative 32) and (technical 74) and (engineering 31), and (8 others). ​
